According to the internet, I’m what you call a “digital native” – brought up in the age of social media, though I began life in analog. Data and technology are second nature to me, but I find myself most at home with pen and paper.
I love numbers, culture and communication. I like to dabble in disciplines that allow these three things intersect. In my past lives, I have been an amateur journalist, a radio broadcaster and a digital content creator. Through these experiences, I have been able to hone my skills in writing, editing, analytics, research and relationship management.
I spent 9+ years serving communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, including 2+ years’ running government-funded youth programs. I’ve worked in daily living supports, ABA-based behaviour intervention, job coaching, program development and crisis management. I believe in work with purpose that contributes good to the world.
I pursued my Bachelor of Communication Studies degree at Capilano University, with the intent of moving into a career in public relations. I currently work as a Communications Specialist for a marketing agency based in Edmonton. My hope is to be able to merge all of my skills and experiences and continue my adventure in producing social good, through advocacy as a professional communicator.
